This technique is very useful to knot when having a needle-holder in one hand. It is a simple technique but some important details need to be taken into account to obtain secure knots.

01_Square_Knot_With_Instrument — Place instrument over the inner surface of extended white strand.

02_Square_Knot_With_Instrument — Encircle instrument with white strand.

03_Square_Knot_With_Instrument — Grasp blue strand with instrument.

04_Square_Knot_With_Instrument — Pull both threads in opposite directions so that white strand pulls away and instrument pulls towards operator.

05_Square_Knot_With_Instrument — Place instrument again over the inner surface of extended white strand.

06_Square_Knot_With_Instrument — Encircle instrument with white strand.

07_Square_Knot_With_Instrument — Grasp blue strand with instrument.

08_Square_Knot_With_Instrument — Pass blue strand through the loop formed by white strand.

09_Square_Knot_With_Instrument — Pull blue strand away ad white strand towards operator. A square knot should be obtained.
